See the guy that Kate is grabbing? That’s Director Bones. He has superhuman strength. He looks like a skeleton because his body and organs are invisible. Oh, and he has a poison touch. And I don’t mean he makes you sick. If you touch him, this is what happens:
In case it’s not clear, he’s dead.
Touching Director Bones skin is a death sentence, and it’s not something he can control. His skin secretes poison naturally. Jade, who is pretty darn powerful, nearly died from a brief touch, and she has superpowers. If Kate’s hand had slipped off his jacket when she grabbed him, she would have been dead.
And the best part? The comic doesn’t say anything about his powers. Either the writer didn’t know about Director Bones’ poison touch, OR the writer knew and knew that fans of the character would be on the edge of their seat, knowing that Kate had just barely escaped death without even realizing it.
