TPBs I’d Like To See

Although I like collecting comics, I’d much rather buy trade paperbacks than individual comics. TPBs don’t require plastic slips or boxes, fit on a bookshelf without falling over and are much more durable than individual issues. (I buy my comics to read, not as collector’s items.) I also like some older series, which are hard to find (or expensive), and I’d much rather buy a TPB than rummage through back issue bins in the vain hope of completely a run of an older comic.

Here’s a few comics I wish would get collected in TPB format:

  1. All-Star Squadron- Superheroes fighting in WWII. What’s not to love?
  2. Young Justice- They’ve collected some of it, but most of the issues haven’t been collected.
  3. Blue Devil- A fun series that never took itself too seriously.
  4. Damage- His series was the first comic I bought a complete run of, and I’d love to have it in TPB form.
  5. Impulse- I love Impulse, but I’m missing a lot of issues of his comic. (There are around 90.) TPBs would make it easier to complete my collection.

I’d also like to see older issues of Adventure Comics and Action Comics reprinted. Mainly because I love Shining Knight and Vigilante. (I blame Justice League Unlimited.) Aside from a few issues, their early adventures haven’t been collected at all. I’d love to see what they were like in the Golden Age.

And while I’m dreaming, I’d like a pony.

Hadn’t realized you were a blogger too! I like your choices: Impulse and Young Justice were two of my favorite series, and I was very sad when both ended.

I love Young Justice and Impulse. It seems like so many comics being published don’t have a sense of humor, but both of them managed to balanced seriousness and humor well. (I’d rather have a comic that pokes fun at itself than a comic that takes itself too seriously any day of the week.)
